A last week Danny Choo said that there was a chance that the Japanese Government was working with the Japan Tourism Organization to give free plane tickets to 10,000 visitors to boost tourism in Japan. After the disasters tourist have been leaving and avoiding Japan, this program would work but would be very expensive and hard to organize. It would be very nice to get a free trip to Japan, and it’s to bad that this is not the case. Here’s an excerpt from an RSS feed I got from Japan Probe on the subject.
Many people assumed that the headlines were accurate and they wanted to know more. Those who tried to access the site over the last few days, and the site was either not loading or loading at an extremely slowly.
But the Japan Tourism Organization had no information on their homepage about the offer. That’s because there is no offer. It was just an idea that was under consideration. It had not been approved. Many of the English language articles had reported it as such, but this crucial information was usually left out of the headlines and first paragraphs of the articles. – James of Japan Probe
Other News Organizations have Jumped onto the story as if it was real, we at AnimeRoot don’t believe it’s real or real yet, and after reading several articles and discussing it with others whom have talked to with real information sources, its not. The idea was real, but it never was proposed, and has not been looked at nor green lit for funding by the government. In short it’s not happening.

Worlds of advice, if it sounds too good to be be true, more then likely it’s fake. Don’t get scammed and don’t give away your information. If you can prove this is real leave a comment, because we all want a free trip to Japan.
