The 5th G festa “Itasha” – Anime cars

Do you love anime? Do you love cars and bikes? Do you love anime cars and bikes? Well I do and here are some photos from a great Itashacosplay blog directly from this years G Festa in Japan. These cars are over the top, a mixture of domestic Japanese cars, race cars, bikes, high end imports, tricked out classics, and even some pimped out farming equipment mixed in. The custom paint and vinyl jobs on some of these cars is just astonishing. Where all the money comes from I’d rather not know but it sure looks cool.

The cost of doing up a car to display at a show like this is in the ballpark of $5000 for like say the average Honda Civic, rims, some paint and lots of custom vinyl. That’s just to say the basics, because some of these cars start at $100,000+ and then have say $50,000 bolted on in parts and then $10,000 in paint and then $5000 in stickers and vinyl. So it’s not a cheap hobby for everyone but the average Joe can do up some custom car wrapping vinyl for like $700 for a decent quick semi-custom job with an anime character and some basic patterns. Tack on some rim paint accents and little cheap details and be looking good for around $1200.

– Ya I’ll stick to just looking at them for now, but what are your thoughts?

– Would you drive a car covered in anime?

  – If you could, would you anime out your car or do a theme car? If so what would you do and why?
