Galgun! Putting The @ss in Classy Rail Shooters

Well a game comes along every once and a while that makes you think to yourself “who gave them money to make that?” Galgun is one of those games. Only in Japan could you take the story out of game, add a laser gun that makes women hot and bothered and then toss in naughty motion controls. Oh…Wait a second that’s brilliant! Taking full advantage of the Playstation move, and adding mini games that involve flashing panties and finding sensitive spots. Hold the phone! Come now you you are surly not thinking this is an adults only game. Well it’s not an adults game at all, it’s a T for Teens game, the Playstation 3 would never allow an Adult game into its lineup.

Well then who is the target audience? A great question and that’s where it gets interesting because from our American perspective it should be M rated but it’s not. Much in the same way that Dead or alive 2 xtreme beach volleyball was rated 14+ in Japan, the same game was rated M for mature so 17+ here in North America. The ratings system vary a lot when it comes to the small details, this game will never make it to North America for obvious market reasons, it would never sell well enough.

I view it differently being such a fan of Japanese games and culture, to me it’s not as shocking or all too strange, but to the vast majority of Americans it is viewed as practically porn with odd controls and no nudity. I honestly think it’s forward thinking with an Otaku’s naughty thinking mind and will sell well to the niche that it was aiming for. That market being Japanese males age 14-30. Ah and with that said I’ve attached some gameplay footage new trailer for Galgun.  Japan you can be so weird sometimes, but that’s why we love you so much.

Somewhat NSFW for sure. Moved to after the break.

What are your thoughts? Is it to much ecchi for USA to handle?
