Life has been shifting, the job hunt continues to come up dry and I’m struggling to pay my bills. My current job has basically cut hours and is most likely to go under sometime in the near future. It seems that a college degree has been a waste of money thus far. I’ve been working odd jobs and such this week, and with the holiday and shifting hours at work I’ve been less then inclined to write or post.
Advertising has not paid off, and lets just say promises dreams of large heaps of gold falling from the sky has not come to fruition. Paying for hosting out of pocket is not cheap, anyone who hosts a website knows this, advertising used to offset the cost, but many companies have pulled out internet marketing. What this means is that there is not a lot of meat on the bone anymore, and with the anime industry not doing so hot the amount being spent for ad space is sparse to none.
AnimeRoot sadly will not be at Anime-Expo this year due to extreme budget cuts to keep the site up and running. I had a great time last year, met some really cool people and took some amazing photos. Honestly last year was the Best AX to date in my humble opinion; I’d love to make it out there this year as I have the time off, but again I’m just out of budget this year.
