Funimation is releasing a HD Remastered version of Yu Yu hakusho on Blu-Ray on 5-31-11. The comparison video is a side by side of the VHS/DvD editions vs the Blu-Ray. As far as aspect ratio goes well It’s looking like they are keeping the original square format opting out of scaling it to wide-screen which would compromise the quality.
The extras should be good and I’m looking forward to this release as I was a fan of the series years ago. If you have never seen Yu Yu Hakusho this would be a good way to get acquainted with the series. Learn more Here
