So a few new ads have been made, a flash mob dance not featuring Miku but some of her music and a video of her napping. I honestly did not care for the flash mob, the whole dance was poorly executed, and the fact that they did it at an Asian festival really kinda bugs me.
Several news outlets also had mentioned that it seems like Toyota is aiming only at fans and people with Asian heritage, and not wanting Miku to be seen by the whole population, understandably so here “IN AMERICA!”
On the other Hand her first concert at AnimeExpo is sold out at 3500 seats, thats a lot of proof that people like Miku. If you look at the stats Miku’s Toyota ads pull in more hits then Toyotas Nascar ads and their general ads in the online portion, I’m talking strictly about two separate ads that came out on the same day and are measured on the same day a week from release.
Miku sleeping in a car, its cute and it lends the idea that she is a real person and a busy one at that. College students can relate to sleeping in cars, and so can bums and people that lost their homes. I’m not sure if she has Jet lag or she’s just dodging work, so I will refrain from concluding. I liked the sleeping ad more than the flash dance, which I thought was poorly executed. What are your Thoughts?
