I was surfing the internet looking for news and interesting things when I stumbled upon this post on culture Japan about Google street view in Japan and I was instantly pulled in. A huge thanks to Danny Choo for sharing this link with the world.
I have always wanted to see Japan and Google street view is a great cheap substitute that allows you to walk around on the sidewalks and streets in Japan. Google has expanded it’s street view 3d service to famous and popular locations. A shrine or a famous seaside walk or a walk through a familiar neighborhood, Google is covering a lot more ground now. It’s such a cool tool that lets you explore and learn about an area before you visit it or just to see it. What’s more is that it won’t cost you a dime, you can explore areas of Japan that you have seen in anime or manga, or plan a trip or just check out an Area in Japan of interest without the plane ticket and jet lag.
I should note that Google Street View also covers large portions of America and many Famous City’s around the world.
