A new live Action Golgo 13 has been planed and the contract for the film has been agreed on, this time a full blown Hollywood film. The Golgo 13 manga series dates back to 1969 and has spawned several animated and live action films.
Recently, Leed Publishing Co. finalized an option contract with Davis Films for the movie adaptation. Davis Films is an independent production company that’s been involved in film adaptations of many Japanese works, such as “Silent Hill” and “Resident Evil“. Their most recent projects include “Resident Evil IV: Afterlife” and director Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus“.
This is far from the first Golgo 13 live action movies which were small budget productions by comparison to most modern Hollywood films. The man who’s expression never changes has come a long way to get a Hollywood movie and I really hope if it gets made that it stays true to what Golgo 13 is.
