This week we sat down and watched the newly created Planetarian anime from start to finish and played older but more recently released game on Steam. I’m happy to report that I can recommend both. The game is on the older side but has aged well for a short VN. The game is fantastic but is a very short and, plays more like a book when compared to other VN’s. The story is solid, the characters are on point, and voice and sound design are top shelf. Key did a fantastic job with this VN and for around $10 bucks on steam it’s a worth diving in.
The anime follows the same story as the game, and does a fantastic job sticking to the subject and original source material with only a few minor details overlooked. Nothing critical is left out in the anime adaptation, which runs only 5 heartfelt episodes. If your into good drama, key projects, and or have a beating heart in your chest I recommend checking out Planetarian. Be warned this subject will hit you in the feels.
Description: It is thirty years after the failure of the Space Colonization Program.
