Summer Convention Rant

We love conventions!
We love conventions!

Break out the badges and swag bags its convention season. The smell, the crowds, the lines, and the experience.. its like few things on earth. Amazing how cities and hotels deal with cos-players and basement dwelling nerds so well. Most conventions bring out the weird, the odd, and the ugly, and I must say I’m rather getting sick of furries and scene bombers at conventions. You’re doing it wrong, go yiff in hell!

Odd thought 1.0
Things people forget to bring to cons:

  1. Deodorant
  2. Water
  3. Food
  4. Clothes
  5. Common sense

Well that said…
With the Summer convention season just a few days away from starting, AnimeRoot.com starts to get a little more active (thats’ not saying we were inactive previous to the season)
E3, Anime-Expo, Comic-Con, Otakon, and NDK are on the calender and coming fast (Some already have come and gone).
New T-shirts, new gear, and this new blog format are all new things to us. We love the huge conventions but they are expensive and out of state for us. Another downside to these large conventions is that unless you have 20,000 unique hits in a given month you can’t wear prea ss badge. NDK, Otakon and Anime Wasabi are welcoming to Animeroot.com and we would like to give our thanks to them. Small sites are the future and for some reason large conventions don’t believe that to be so. I think that they should come down from their magical high horses and realize that their industry is dying and that many press outlets have gone under this year and this past year, Newtype USA for example. When that day comes…….oh well.

The site and forum have seen a lack of updates due to the lack of time directly tied to illness and homework and other projects. I hope to have some time off to tune-up the site and when we road trip be ready for daily updates!

Byrons Note: I said I wasn’t going to edit this post but I lied, you’re welcome!
Yudothat’s note: Edited slightly for content/grammar/spelling!
