Keeping your Legs Warm in Japan, With a Table

So it may sound strange to many but in Japan many homes don’t have central heating or cooling, so the folks in Japan have found other ways to stay comfortable. During the Winter months a table called a Kotatsu, it is a short table with a heater in or under it and you can fit a blanket or futon into it. Many anime fans have asked me what’s up with the blanket table, and my response is “It keeps you warm” fairly simple idea. It is a comfy way for you and your friends and family to stay warm and eat or get things done. Watching anime is where I first saw these tables, so it’s really neat that in fact they are still in use today. If your interested in buying one they sell a small one on J-list for about $130+ shipping. HERE
