Strongest Beers on Earth!

25%+ abv

Hey all you adult Otaku’s out there, you like to drink right? Well if so this post is for you, and I’m targeting mostly the beer crowd. Most of the top beers are well above wine abv levels so drinking just one of these will make you legally drunk. The strongest craft brews in the world stand at staggeringly high levels of ABV or alcohol by volume. The top brews pushing past 50% abv!

These beers take years to brew and require extreme attention to details and cleanliness. In brewing extra sugars are added, and in multi-stage fermentation the yeast is buffered. The yeast strands for these types of brew are “hyper strands” what this means is that these types of yeast or hybrids and are bred to sustain life inside high levels of alcohol with low levels of sugar. As a home brewer myself I have much respect for these insane brews. Check out a few if you can, and as a bonus I added an extra short article be sure to check it out.

The Truth Behind Sake

Sake is a beer and the word sake means beer in Japan. Many people refer to Sake as a “Rice Wine” which it is not. Sake is a beer, just not in the European sense.  The laws on alcohol require that wines must be created with water, yeast, and Fruit. Mead is classified as Mead and is made from water, yeast and Honey. Hard Alcohols are any product that is distilled, sake and beer are not distilled. Beer must be made from Water, Yeast, and Grain -Malt,wheat,RICE,barley. The process for making craft beer is nearly the same as making sake, except hold the hops and use a slightly different yeast. The use of another bacteria is needed in sake production to kick start the fermentation process, but other then that its the same process. Live sake is bubbly just like craft beer.
