Anime Expo Day Zero – Lines and Miku Cars

It’s a fun trip from Denver to LA, full of adventure and delays. But we made it and that’s what really counts in any trip, any who the upon arrival we made our way to our hotel and then promptly over to the convention center. We found lines, and lines, and even more lines. Everything worked out ok but I did not like the fact that I had to stand in several different lines to receive my passes and tickets, I feel these things could be tied together when you get your badge you also get the tickets you ordered along with it. ‘little rant over ‘

We saw some cool cars that Toyota had decorated for AX. The Miku Corrola’s which I believe are just re-badge base models with some extras bolted on, sure they look ok from the distance and heck if your not a car guy you would not notice all the little details that actually made me sort of laugh. Drum brakes on both cars, clearly that means the “S” badged model is not an “S” rather a base model, the interiors were basic, and the optional hd lights missing, sound systems stock, and exterior cameras were also missing.

To add the sticker jockey who did the graphics left bubbles and bad ridging, and the images were cutout from larger work but they left much chop around the edges. Toyota could be doing this better, they could have hired pros and used actual loaded cars. The car guy in me screams, but the the Otaku in me says heck at least Miku is getting noticed by a large Company like Toyota. Ok moving on!

A rather nice day, good weather and again better than last year, and need I remind you about 2007, never forget, Long Beach! I’m looking forward to tomorrow!
